Kimberly Godinez is a former Day Care licensing representative with DCFS. She began her professional career within the childcare classrooms where she began to understand the significance of a child’s early relationships and its impact on positive development. She went on to provide bilingual parent education and family support to a predominantly Latino community where she continued to contribute to the positive transformation of young children and their families.
Ultimately, Kimberly found her passion in giving back through the field of social service. She served as a Human Services Caseworker for the State of Illinois followed by her role as a Daycare Licensing Representative. During her time with DCFS, she took part in ensuring the safety of children in daycare homes by providing licensing and re-licensing reviews and recommendations to day care providers.
Today, Kimberly is a Licensing Navigator and continues to work with elementary school students. She earned her Bachelor’s Degree in Psychology from Northeastern Illinois University. In addition, she dedicated much of her area of study surrounding Early Childhood Education. As a first generation Latina and a proud mom to a toddler, she is actively pursuing new opportunities to make an impact in the education, support, and resources available to early learners and their families.
