Bio

Yvonne recently retired from her 35 year service with the Department of Children and Family Services. She earned her Bachelor's degree in Psychology from the University of Depaul and  began her career with DCFS as a Child Protection Specialist. Most recently, Yvonne worked as a Day Care Licensing Representative for nearly 13 years.  

One of Yvonne’s many strengths is her ability to continually learn and apply her understanding of complex standards that impacted the communities she served. Her passion and knowledge was presented to numerous day care home forums, group presentations for day care home associations, as well as educating DCFS employees on home and group day care standards. She played an instrumental role in bridging the communication gap for Spanish speaking day cares.

Yvonne has always been passionate about ensuring the safety of children and providing access to quality care outside of the home. Yvonne is a woman of faith that loves God and is very active in her Church community.  She is a proud mother of 2 and a grandmother of 3.
